About My Clients
I work well with anxious women with big hearts who are drained from the constant people-pleasing and perfectionism. Your big heart leaves you putting everyone first but yourself. The constant overthinking, self-doubt, and not feeling good enough is overwhelming. You are finally ready to put yourself first by learning how to manage your anxiety and start building your self-worth.
My Approach to Helping
My therapy approach aims to change patterns of self-sabotaging behavior and create new patterns that involve a kinder inner voice and sense of self-worth. We do this by exploring your past and figuring out what events, interactions, or individuals impacted your current patterns and view of self. I’m not your stereotypical therapist with a clipboard nodding and repeating, “I see.” My clients appreciate my humor, straightforward approach, and laid-back vibe in session. And every once in a while, an F-bomb has been known to make an appearance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm passionate about ending mental health stigma, specifically within minority communities. Let's end the harmful ideas of "suck it up," "you don't have anything to be sad about," and "get over it ." Instead, let's start normalizing mental health and seeking therapy because we all struggle, and we can all do with a bit of kindness and support. A little about me I am of mixed race, white and Hispanic. I identify primarily with my Hispanic side because that's the culture I was raised in but also recognize my white privilege. I was raised Catholic but do not practice or subscribe to any current denomination. However, I recognize the strong support that religion can be to some people. I am pro-choice.I feel It is important to listen, read and educate myself to be actively anti-racist.
