About My Clients

Are you exhausted from the relentless cycle of anxiety, shame, and guilt? Tired of obsessing over food and your body? Unsure what "healthy" even looks like anymore? It doesn’t have to stay this way. Imagine having more energy because your mind isn’t caught up in endless rumination and comparisons. What if your body felt like an ally instead of something to battle? What if you could meet yourself with acceptance and compassion? Imagine eating with freedom, ease, and genuine satisfaction.

My Background and Approach

For over a decade I have helped people heal their relationship with food and their body. I'll tell you about my professional qualifications in a moment but, first, I want you to know that I get it. Having recovered from my own eating disorder two decades ago, I understand how painful it is and also what it takes to make your way out. I have walked the walk and continue put into practice everything I share with my clients. While recovery is hard, I 100% believe it is possible and worth all the effort it takes. My style is down to earth, validating, and direct. While the things that we work on in therapy are serious, we can also have some laughs along the way! Professionally, I have dedicated myself to being intensively trained in DBT and other evidence based practices for problems including OCD. I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and an approved consultant. I’ve been a student of yoga and meditation for over 20 years and have completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Many of my clients hold identities and/or live in bodies that are marginalized in our society. As a therapist, I work hard to create a space that feels safe, compassionate and validating. At the same time, I acknowledge the many unearned privileges that I hold as a white, able bodied, cis-gendered, heterosexual person. I can never fully understand what it is like to live in our world with marginalized identities and live in a body that is treated as less valuable than mine. I am committed to active learning and staying open to all the ways that I can continue to do better.
