About My Clients
My clients struggle as you do. Despite being smart, determined and kind, life is hard. When they first come in, they experience thoughts and emotions as too intense. They have trouble relaxing and feel like anxiety has taken over their life. Before therapy, they put a lot of pressure on themselves and felt guilt and shame for struggling. ‘Other people seem to have it all together, why can’t they?’ Like my clients, you deserve to find peace and fulfillment in life. I'd love to help you get there.
My Approach to Helping
Clients describe me as nurturing, warm, and collaborative. In our work together, our relationship will come first and serve as a primary tool to improve your relationship with yourself and others. My approach to therapy integrates mind and body. I will use various body-based techniques to help you deepen your self-understanding. In practice, this looks like slowing down as thoughts and emotions arise, noticing sensations, pausing to tend to inner wounds, and learning how to feel safe and at ease in your body. My approach is not about “fixing” you. It’s about helping you realize you are whole, just as you are. Together, let's trade self-doubt and self-criticism for a more compassionate way of being with yourself. Let’s explore your thoughts and emotions so you’re no longer consumed by them. Let’s process issues from your past to help you live more fully in the present. If you’re ready for change, and open to doing the work necessary to grow and heal, I’d love to connect!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe you are the expert on yourself, and that the answers you’re seeking are already within you, waiting to be uncovered. With my training and experience as a therapist, my goal is to help you access your inner wisdom. As you share your stories with me, I will act as a supportive guide—helping you make new meaning of your stories, and rewrite or create new ones as needed. I’m also passionate about providing holistic, affirming, and trauma-informed care. In a nutshell, this means I view each person as part of a larger system they have experienced. From this lens, I find we can reduce unnecessary shame or guilt and approach problems with more curiosity, care, and kindness. **I work with individuals of any race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, religion, or background. All parts of you are welcome here.**
