About My Clients
I primarily work with adults, college-age individuals, and teens struggling with eating disorders, body-image dissatisfaction, self-esteem, life transitions, school + career stressors, and anxiety + depression. I incorporate mindfulness strategies with clients to gain a deeper understanding of how to identify and regulate emotions and thoughts. I also often work with individuals who are working in helping professions who may be experiencing a sense of burnout and emotional exhaustion.
My Background and Approach
My approach is one of empathy and compassion where I will hold space for all of your emotions while you navigate through difficult life events. My counseling style is warm, easing-going, and non-judgmental and and I practice from an existential and person-centered framework. I also incorporate mindfulness, relaxation skills, and cognitive behavioral techniques in sessions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I hold personal beliefs and values that align with the person I am and what makes my life meaningful. I believe that once we are aligned with our values as individuals, we have the potential to reach our goals and obtain a sense of fulfillment and purpose in our lives. I believe in heath at every size and I am aligned with approaches such as self-compassion, mindfulness, + body-neutrality and I have experience working with those in recovery from eating disorders using these methods. I would also describe myself as an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and an advocate for social justice and human rights. In addition, I have spent several years and volunteering and working in the field of suicide prevention and have experience helping those that have been affected by suicide or with histories of suicidal thoughts.
