About My Clients

My clients are seeking support around anxiety, changes and transitions, complex and developmental trauma, depression, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, relational issues, stress management, work burnout and transgenerational trauma within the African American community.

My Background and Approach

My commitment as a psychotherapist, social worker, and social justice advocate is to explore the depths of transgenerational trauma and peel off the layers of oppression and cultural conditioning so that we can relate to our true self. I am certified in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and implement practices from Mindful Self - Compassion and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. I am certified in Psychedelic-assisted Therapies and Research at California Institute of Integral Studies and am passionate about how psychedelics and plant medicines can serve as tools to heal trauma. I am a dedicated life long learner committed to expanding my training, certification, and understanding of the diversity and complexity of the communities I serve.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My personal beliefs and values were cultivated by my family system and my small rural community bordering Mexico. My mother, first generation Swiss American and African American father married during the 1970's and were shunned by family and community for marrying outside their race. My parents grieved the loss of family support while embodying compassion and inclusion. My mother always said, "the door is always open." I was modeled the importance of inclusivity, community, and social advocacy. I continue my parents and family's path by committing to social work and becoming part of Young Professional Council at San Diego LGBTQ Center, advocating for quality mental health services in foster care and community health clinics serving immigrants and refugees. I have expanded my skills in the psychedelic-assisted therapy community and plan to cultivate community around access to psychedelics in the African American community.
