About My Clients
Do you find yourself feeling lost, not knowing how to find a new normal? Are you breaking down over small things? Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and stuck? Throughout our lives, change is inevitable, and it is HARD. When we are struggling, it is easy to feel like we are not enough—that we should be doing more, adjusting faster, “getting over it”, and enjoying our lives. I want you to know that it is okay to not be okay. What you feel is not forever, and a new normal is possible.
My Background and Approach
My goal is for you to be able to navigate life more easily as challenges arise. Changes can create anxiety, and the more that we focus on the unknown, the more overwhelmed we become. We often grieve “what used to be” or “what could have been”, whether changes are desired or not. I believe that it is important for you to have some skills to use during these times. I focus on creating a space where you are safe to be vulnerable and feel heard. I often use creativity, play, and imagination, as these can be helpful tools when our words are not enough. I incorporate a variety of approaches to dig deeper into your thoughts, feelings, and actions, and understand why they are happening. All these things have served a purpose and have a reason for existing. We will go beyond the “what” of your symptoms and explore the “why”. No problem is too big or too small for therapy if you are ready to dive in and learn more about yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that learning to navigate change and uncertainty is a foundational skill that being human requires us to learn. We all have challenges and we all struggle in different ways. By navigating my own anxiety and depression, I have learned that the best way to grow stronger through challenges is to face them head on—that pretending they do not exist only makes it harder. Everyone has strengths and discovering yours can be an empowering place to start. In my counseling career and volunteer work with Camp To Belong- Wisconsin, I have met so many young people who face adversity with bravery and vulnerability. They reinforce my belief that the things that happen to us are only part of our story, and we get to write the rest of it. If you want to learn more about how I can help, send me a message. Together, we will test new ways of being and practice authenticity. Change is powerful, and so are you.
