About My Clients
I enjoy working with fun, quirky queers, children of immigrants, artists, and creatives who are seeking to find their true selves in a world that often discourages thinking outside the box. They’re on a journey to heal from past wounds, uncover unconscious beliefs, and embrace a brighter, more authentic future.
My Background and Approach
I take a compassionate approach, gently encouraging clients to explore and get curious about potentially harmful patterns in their lives. I believe humor is a powerful tool in therapy, so I often use well-placed jokes to lighten the mood and help clients feel at ease as we dive into challenging topics. This blend of empathy and humor creates a safe, supportive space where clients can reflect, grow, and make meaningful changes.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm passionate about applying anti-oppressive and abolition theory to therapy. This means I value informed consent, transparency, and acknowledging systems of oppressions impacts on mental health. I'm in the business of getting fired, because you no longer need me. My goals for the following year are to get more involved in abolitionist efforts within the social work community. I also like to set movement goals around service and am biking 300 miles in August with the American Cancer Society. You'll occasionally see my dog in the background of our sessions, and I'm in the process of training her to be a therapy dog. When I'm not working, I like to practice yoga, obsess over the peloton cult, and get outside to the closest mountains.
