About My Clients
Taking care of yourself can be hard when you're used to focusing on taking care of others. You may be feeling overwhelmed or having difficulty navigating changes in your relationships. During counseling you can learn to trust yourself and improve your boundaries with others. Individual counseling is your space to get clear about what matters most to you, so you can live the life you want.
My Background and Approach
As a counselor I am here to support you in becoming kinder to yourself. I see my role as helping you explore the options in your life so you can decide which one is best for you. Having an outside perspective can help you notice patterns in your life that are no longer working for you. Counseling is collaborative, and I will check-in with you regularly about the work we are doing together. My approach is solutions-focused, helping you build on your strengths to achieve your goals. Our work together may also include mindfulness exercises to help you recognize your emotions and understand yourself better. We may discuss your spiritual practices to help you develop meaningful rituals for self-care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone is the expert in their own story. As a multiracial, cisgender female, I know my life experiences will differ from yours. I do my best to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to reflect on your experiences. My role as a counselor is to help you create a life that is meaningful for you. I can help you look at situations from different perspectives and explore your options. I also recognize that your life is lived outside of my office. I have found journaling to be an effective way to reflect on how you're feeling between counseling sessions and can help us focus our work together. I also believe spirituality can be a part of self-growth, whether or not you consider yourself religious. I find inspiration in nature, and am familiar with earth-based spiritual traditions. Journaling and Tarot are part of my personal self-care practices.
