I also provide Trauma Focused Cognitive Behaviors Therapy for children ages 2-17 who have experienced trauma as a result from natural disaster, car accidents, abuse, loss of a loved one, adjustment to parent separation/divorce or any other significant life stressor.

As a clinical art therapist, I integrate art making into every therapy modality I provide because it helps children to express feelings they may not have words for and create a concrete record of the therapy process and growth that they can see at the end of treatment.

I provide Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and PC-CARE. Both are family treatment modalities for families with children ages 1-10 with disruptive behaviors that do not respond to traditional parenting. PCIT provides parents with specialized therapy skills so they can learn to manage their child's behaviors as a therapist would so they can enjoy a warm peaceful relationship with their child again.

My passion is supporting parents! Having parented a strong willed child, I understand the frustration parents can feel when traditional parenting doesn't work. And understand that sometimes good parents just need specialized skills to get their children's behavior under control. With PCIT we can work together to transform your child's behaviors and bring peace and joy back to your everyday interactions with your child again

I love working with "naughty" children. Not because I enjoy seeing parents stressed out - I understand how taxing it can be to parent a strong willed child. Rather, I love working with these families because I have seen over and over again the radical shift in parents lives when they learn PCIT and how to channel their child's defiance against them into resilience and perseverance with them. "Naughtiness" is just a sign that peace and warmth can come back to the family with PCIT.

A recent study has even shown PCIT to be more effective for disruptive behavior than stimulant medication. PCIT can also improve school behaviors, be used with siblings, and completed in as little as 14 session. And I can tell you how it worked wonders for my family.
