About My Clients

Are you searching for relief from intrusive thoughts, memories or bodily sensations? Are you seeking relief from current and past distress and want to find peace? Maybe you have past trauma or life events have not gone as you expected? Did you experience birth trauma or are you experiencing guilt or shame related to an abortion or religious or faith-based shame? I want to teach you how to use body-based techniques to improve your quality of life and reduce your anxiety and trauma.

My Background and Approach

I specialize in working with complex trauma, anxiety and distressing life events by focusing on what is trapped in the body. I use somatic approaches to help release trauma gently without the need to verbally process the experience multiple times. Lifespan Integration works subconsciously to allow you to process and integrate your life experiences back into your consciousness and strengthen your identity and self-esteem, as well as any attachment issues. Working with thoughts is often not enough to overcome complex trauma. I can teach you skills and techniques that you can use at home to reduce your distress, anxiety and sadness, and improve your sense of self and quality of life. I also provide a safe space to explore issues related to birth or abortion trauma and religious abuse. I am a real down to earth therapist, with the training and life experience to guide you how to heal yourself.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Life can be beautiful and magnificent, but it can also be hard and painful, Often things happen to us on this journey that leave us confused, lost, hurt and afraid. Through no fault of our own we may find ourselves depleted and out of capacity to function. I believe that our bodies hold the keys to our healing if we learn to harness it and work at listening to what it is telling us. Often we are not responsible for the things that happen to us, but we can be responsible for working toward growth and healing and learning new ways of thinking, seeing and being. I have lived and worked with survivors of war and atrocities and watched them learn to heal and move forward. I believe in being open to the spiritual and the role that this plays in understanding ourselves. I also make space for doubts and questions, and the difficult struggles that life and faith brings up. I am open to working with you wherever you come from and will help you to get where you want to go.
