About My Clients
Are you finding yourself in the same place over and over again? Maybe it’s a string of bad relationships, keeping a job or difficulty in school. Maybe life has taken you through trauma, the pain and effects of which you are still experiencing today. I can help you find the path that will lead to success rather than repeated frustration and discouragement. If you are tired of the struggle and the pain of trauma I can help you find hope and healing.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in the treatment of trauma including PTSD, depression, anxiety, adoption and foster care. I have a background in crisis response and working with severe trauma including children and youth who have witnessed homicides and suicides. I am trained in various approaches including EMDR, person-centered and CBT. During the past 20+ years I have worked with children, teens and adults during life’s challenges and transitions as well as during times of heartbreak and desperation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that listening is a lost art; a loss from which many of us suffer. I believe creating a space free of noise and distraction where we can listen and be listened to is imperative to decreasing stress, increasing connection and improving our overall health and well-being. I am passionate about children and youth in foster care and/or who’ve been adopted. I have the honor of being a part of a Royal Family Kids Camp, a summer camp for foster children between the ages of 5 and 11. I help prepare staff including teaching them TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention). During camp I facilitate a sensory center, provide crisis response and staff support. In addition to private practice, I am working with OC United, a local non-profit, providing consultation, therapy for emancipated foster youth and clinical supervision for graduate interns.
