About My Clients
Serving the Needs of Parents. While it’s true that parenting is the hardest job you’ll ever love, you don’t have to go it alone. Have consequences stopped working leaving you at a loss in the face of difficult behaviors? Are your date night conversations only about your children? Do you find yourself repeating what your parents said to you and regretting it? Or maybe you are looking for ways to feel less haunted by your childhood?
My Background and Approach
I started with a degree in existential-phenomenological psychology. From there I added in attachment based developmental approaches and neurobiology most specifically through learning Lifespan Integration. All of this means that my lens is developed to help you make sense of yourself and your life so that you can be the best parent for your child and engage in life the way you feel most authentically doing so. I offer parent consultations (time to learn about your child and develop parenting skills) and individual therapy (if you are a parent, you know there is no quicker way to discover your old wounds and vulnerabilities).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal beliefs can be summed up in my 25 years of practicing the art of aikido. Aikido is a Japanese based martial art that is geared toward conflict resolution - internally and interpersonally. It has a very strong ethical base. We recognize an "attacker" as someone who is suffering and as such it is on us to help them get to safety while maintaining our own sense of safety. It informs me in all areas of life. While it has strong spiritual aspects, it offers a clear path for developing oneself in regards to ability to connect and care for self and others.
