About My Clients
Do you struggle with stress, anxiety, or burnout that affects your work, your relationships, and your quality of life? Do events from your past continue to crop up and cause distress? Do you wonder how your career and your life could feel more balanced and satisfying? With the many stressors in our world, so many people are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and unsure of what to do.
My Background and Approach
I offer a safe space that is neurodivergence and LGBTQIA+ affirming. Using an direct and integrated approach, we will create a plan specific to your goals and needs. We will start with understanding the details of your situation and the specific challenges coming up for you. Using evidence-based approaches, we will put together a plan that will help. Besides offering things to do, I also provide a place for you to have validation, compassion, and a helpful point of view. With many years of experience as a therapist, I'm trained in different modalities, but I don't believe that one-size-fits-all. Instead, I will offer specific approaches and techniques that fit your situation, learning style, and interests. I pull from techniques that help people get more present with themselves, more aware of their life values, better able to calm and soothe the nervous system, and also motivated to move forward even when things are tough and unfair (because I know they often are).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have worked in social services and as a creative for many years so I know the struggles that can come up. I don't see burnout as an individual issue but a systemic one. And, somehow, we all have to figure out how to keep going. Having dealt with such issues myself, I know that support is part of the healing process. None of us heal alone and whatever you're going through, you are not broken, deficient, or flawed: you have done the best you can in situations that are very difficult. Helping people work through burnout, anxiety, and past traumas is my passion. There are ways you can move forward with courage and conviction, even when it's hard, and in therapy you can obtain the tools, insight, and resilience to help you get there. You might need to make some decisions, set some boundaries, slow down, or dig deep. Whatever it takes, I'll be with you on the journey, and it's an honor to do so.
