About My Clients
Lola's clinical focus includes working with clients on anxiety, depression, relationship issues, couples therapy, trauma, mood disorders, and race-based interactions that are inherent in every social encounter. Her personal and professional interests include helping people navigate sexual concerns, mental health distress, religious sexual shame, and sexual abuse.
My Background and Approach
Lola's approach centers around the firm belief that our brains respond powerfully to stories—and everyone has one. She works diligently to establish the therapeutic space as a safe, healing, and generative one, allowing clients to consider perspectives, opportunities, and strengths often missed. By cultivating awareness, examining our stories, and identifying one’s values, Lola helps clients become more resilient and develop new responses to distress. She sees this work as a highly collaborative one, where the client and clinician work together to explore the particularities of the client’s struggle and identify actionable steps as a team.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Lola is also passionate about how stress becomes embedded within one’s body and the importance of addressing these somatic impacts. Lola employs a narrative framework coupled with cognitive behavioral theory and polyvagal theory to uniquely help clients reframe, redefine, and re-engage in their life.
