Majority of my clients are adults in their 20's - 40's. My clients are from all cultural & faith backgrounds.
My Background and Approach
I received my counseling degree from Covenant Theological Seminary and have interned and practiced at non-profit agencies and private practice clinics. I also hold an MA degree in Theology. I offer a strength-based, client-centered, relational, and emotionally focused approach to therapy. I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques , Emotionally Focused Therapy approaches, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy approaches when appropriate. I come with trauma training. I focus on the client's present experience in the counseling room and endeavor to create a trusting and a safe relationship. I offer insight, clarity, and gentle challenges to my client's presenting struggles. My goal is for the client to feel heard and their struggles embraced with compassion and integrity. I have a knack for making connections with the client's past and present stories and offer a collaborative approach to treatment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every single person has the ability to make the changes that they desire and that change is achievable and available to everyone. I also believe that change requires incredible hard work. This is why I believe that therapeutic treatment is not a one time event but an ongoing process. My hope for my clients is that they will acquire the tools they need to walk this journey with growing confidence. Research has proven that the most important factor in a successful therapeutic treatment is the relationship they have with their therapist. So I prioritize building a safe relationship with my clients and this is why I believe 'fit' is important when finding a therapist. You deserve help, compassion, dignity, and a safe relationship.
