About My Clients
We help treat those dealing with anxiety, depression, disordered eating & body image issues, life transitions, relationship/partner challenges, sexual issues, identity questions, self-esteem, and various types of trauma. We are a diverse group of practitioners and have experience working with adults of every age and welcome any and all identities, including those from the BIPOC, Queer and non-binary communities.
My Background and Approach
As the CEO of Khan Counseling, Sidrah has worked in mental health for the past 15 years and continues to feel just as passionate as she has from day one. Doing her graduate work at New York University allowed her to learn from some of the best in the field, and provided field experiences that shaped her as a person and a practitioner. Sidrah's specialized focus is in trauma, specifically sexual trauma and intergenerational trauma. Our other practitioners--Sharif, Cindy, Alex, Natalie, and Adam--also have their own unique journeys as therapists and have a plethora of knowledge and experience to help clients heal and grow. As a diverse group of humans, we offer a space for anyone and everyone looking for support. Our main emphasis is creating a safe space and building a close relationship, and within that we utilize modalities like psychodynamic theories, mindfulness, & trauma-focused approaches, and place a strong emphasis on building therapeutic trust.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Being a group of practitioners who have varied identities, including men and women of color, first generation, trauma survivors, complex chronic health experiencers, and LGBTQ advocates, we find value and richness in the unique intersectionalities that make us all human. We strive to be the most compassionate therapists we can be, both inside the therapy room and out. We practice from a holistic perspective and believe that our mental, emotional, physical, & spiritual health are all interconnected, and each system must be honored.
