I am client-focused in my therapeutic approach, and work to provide a genuine, warm, and affirming environment to assist my clients in exploring their issues, develop alternative coping styles, and work to resolve problems in their life. I am enthusiastic about my work, and privileged to experience an individual's ability to rediscover their authentic self.

In working on Gender Identity issues, one must remember you are the expert on your experience. As a gender therapist, I recognize my function is not to challenge who you are, but to help you be your authentic self and to assist you as you navigate systems with roadblocks others may have placed.

Throughout my training I have focused my work on the LGBTQ community and their specific concerns in mental health. As a non-binary member of the LGBTQ community, I know the importance of having a provider who is genuine, empathic, warm, and understanding of the issues others in the community face. I am also aware of specific challenges in finding appropriate and competent care in an environment where you will not be faced with having to educate a counselor about issues like coming out.

I address the various developmental, emotional, and social challenges faced by teenagers, as well as effective therapeutic approaches tailored to their needs. My therapeutic understanding encompasses topics like identity formation, peer relationships, and mental health issues common in adolescence. I can provide insights into evidence-based techniques, communication strategies, and ways to create a supportive therapeutic environment for teens.

I have a solid understanding of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles, techniques, and applications based on evidence-based practice. This includes knowledge of cognitive distortions, behavioral interventions, and the therapeutic process. I can help explain concepts, suggest strategies, and provide insights into how CBT can be applied to various mental health issues.

I often use feminist therapy principles in my work, including its focus on social justice, empowerment, and the intersectionality of identities. My training includes insights into how societal structures impact mental health and the importance of addressing power dynamics in therapy. I can help explain key concepts, discuss techniques, and explore how feminist therapy can be applied in various contexts
