About My Clients
Perhaps you've experienced depression, anxiety, or the loss of a loved one and are trying to make sense of it all. Perhaps you've never had the space to explore your feelings toward your sexuality or gender identity. I strive to offer a safe space to get in touch with these feelings and explore without reservation. I work with adults and young adults and draw from an eclectic blend of therapeutic techniques to meet your needs.
My Background and Approach
I use person-centered, psychodynamic, dialectical-behavioral, and mindfulness approaches in my work. I believe in nurturing the mind, body, and spirit and take a holistic and contemplative approach in addressing each of these needs. In therapy, we have the opportunity to create our own philosophy of how we want to live our lives. My role as a therapist is to be a collaborator to help you understand your thoughts, feelings, and relationships. We can work on symptom management and alleviating immediate stressors while being curious together about patterns that impact your wellbeing in the long term.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all have the potential to live authentic and full lives. People are not diagnoses, but some of our unhelpful and unhealthy patterns prevent us from thriving. When we can explore ourselves and our relationships, we can heal these unhealthy patterns and develop positive coping mechanisms and foster a more hopeful worldview. I believe in the power of uplifting marginalized voices and as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I want to give others space to safely express themselves. I welcome conversations about systems and ways my clients can feel empowered while navigating them. I encourage my clients to process feelings around the intersection of identity and what it is like to work with someone who may hold different identities. I have engaged in my own therapy and am grateful for the healing it has provided, and I believe that personal therapy serves as a means for support and growth.
