About My Clients
Together we form a collaboration of body, mind, and spirit in a trusting relationship to explore your truth, your strengths, and your unique life perspective. With conversation, reflection, consideration and the intention to challenge preconceived ideas, perspectives and actions you can try a different response for yourself or choose a new path forward. The life experiment continues to unfold in every moment.
My Background and Approach
My approach to psychotherapy and counseling is relational, person-centered, and existential. Together we form a trusting therapeutic relationship that is defined by your life experiences and your personal truth. You are the expert on you. I bring my academic, therapeutic, and professional/personal self to our collaboration. Existentially we explore the personal meanings and purpose that resonate for you in living a life of integrity, gratitude, wisdom and balanced wellness. My theoretical approach includes the neurobiology of clinical practice (neuropsychotherapy), mindfulness meditation, attachment theory, mentalization, the stages of change, and eastern philosophy, while incorporating current scientific research on the mind, brain, and human behavior and emotions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Social justice and advocacy for all human beings is a foundation of all social work practice. Every individual has the right to autonomy, self-awareness, self-expression, love, well-being and personal growth to live their best life. Self-determination, the sanctity of human relationships, cultural respect and cultural humility are sacred rights. Most all human behavior is learned and can be challenged and redirected toward a new vision of becoming all one is meant to be. In awareness the potential for change and freedom to choose one's own path is realized. Learn to walk your own best path. Become your best advocate for a life lived well.
