I am trained as an EMDR therapist, and see clients both by telehealth and in-person. I am trained through EMDRIA and am supervised by an EMDR clinician. EMDR is also an important part of my theoretical framework.

I find mindfulness practices to be very helpful to managing distress and building insight. In a session, I will often ask a client to practice being mindful of their experience; to be aware of their thoughts, emotions, and sensations without judgement.

I am trained in EMDR Therapy, and its framework is very important to my theoretical orientation. My focus overall is highly trauma-informed. Your history and previous life experiences all play a part in your current every day life, conscious or otherwise.

I find mindful practice to be highly useful in therapeutic practice. It can help manage distress and build insight. In a session, I will often return attention to the internal experience of the client without judgement.

Emotion and pain often finds manifestation in physical experience. Much of my work is in managing this, as well as working to develop a stronger, healthier relationship with the body in general.

I work with both individuals and couples who practice polyamory/non-monogamy (and otherwise). I have experience working with these relationship dynamics, and find the needed skills useful in many other areas of an individual's life.

Neurodivergence, executive functioning, and autism are central to my approach as a therapist. I work both to keep this topic in-mind when considering identity, capacity, and other such topics, but also when working through prior trauma.

Neurodivergence often means alienation, neglect, and guilt, and I work to process these feelings with clients.

My expertise and training is working with gender and sexuality, which is often to say working through issues in expression and understanding. I offer space to further explore and understand gender, or otherwise affirmation and understanding. We go at your pace.

I believe a mindfulness practice is at the core of therapeutic work. The practice of non-judgemental curiosity allows us to be aware of what is happening without judgement or fear. It also allows us to experience and to pass through difficult emotions and experiences.

The skills of DBT are helpful in managing the daily difficulties of life, from emotional regulation to understanding and responding to situations. I also utilize the general approach of dialectics to better understand experiences and their meaning. In practice, this is often to try and resolve two opposing beliefs, or to incorporate material conditions and their impact into the emotional story being told.
