About My Clients
I have been in the field since 2013 and have worked with a wide range of people from all walks of life. as young as 6 to as old as 82, who were experiencing symptoms including but not limited to depression, anxiety, bi-polar, substance abuse, addiction, schizophrenia, psychosis, OCD, and trauma. I am open to working with anyone who is willing to work on themselves and I am always open to learning as that is a life long journey.
My Background and Approach
As far as schooling I received my BS in Psychology and my MS in Rehabilitation Counseling, both from Southern Illinois University (Carbondale). I have been practicing since 2013 but received my LCPC in 2016. I have provided individual, group, and couples therapy. Regarding my work experience I have worked in many capacities from inpatient, outpatient, community mental health, ACT, private practice, case management, and advocacy. I will also say that of everything that I have worked to help people with I have the most experience with trauma, though I have many years of experience working with other symptoms that were mentioned previously
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Regarding myself, I grew up on the southside/south suburbs of Chicago. My life experiences are varied and I think that is a strength when it comes to therapy. I grew up in a blended family and this taught me to be open minded from a young age. I feel like my wide range of experiences have equipped me to handle most situations with a combination of clinical knowledge and real life experiences
