About Our Clients
Our clients come from a wide range of backgrounds but all have one thing in common - they've made a step in a direction to better themselves. Some have been in therapy for years and just need to check in once periodically while some are in crisis and needing more intensive support. Regardless of the level of severity of need everyone deserves to be heard and understood so that they can be and do better.
How We Can Help You
Amanda is a licensed therapist with a masters degree in professional counseling. She has a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Trauma, Abuse, and Deprivation. Amanda is passionate about treating the “whole person” by addressing mind, body and spiritual influences. Treating a person’s concerns holistically is important to her as she believe in the mind-body connection and that one effects the other. Amanda has specific training in working with children/teens and incorporates Expressive Arts and Play Therapy techniques to better speak their language in a non-confrontational way. Amanda has strong beliefs that keeping caretakers involved and informed throughout the treatment process with children is critical as attachment and relationships are a key component in the healing process. Through the lens of Emotionally Focused Therapy she is skilled in approaching interpersonal issues within relationships to foster the creation of secure bonds and re-organized emotional responses.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that anyone's "dysfunction" was once "functional". There is a solid reason for the ways that you think and behave. Chances are you simply don't need that behavior or way of thinking anymore. We're here to help you change it.
