About My Clients
It's my opinion (and research supports this) that building supportive spaces where individuals can explore their authentic selves and change unhelpful patterns is the most effective way to do therapy. I support the well-being of adults and adolescents experiencing overwhelming emotions, challenging histories, and complex mental health problems. All too often we trade expressing our genuine selves for safety, which can lead to blame, resentment, anxiety, and inexplicable grief.
My Background and Approach
Theoretically, that means I am a humanistic, existential, and dynamic therapist, focusing on compassion and acceptance. I have interests working with shame, trust issues, and self-criticism. I'm experienced working with individuals who have underwent relational trauma as well as those having problems with anxiety, including diagnoses of OCD and PTSD.
Why I am a Good Fit for You
One of the most difficult things about mental health challenges to me is feeling like we're isolated. Medicine definitely has its place but there's no replacing a real human connection where you can feel prized, seen, and empathized with. Modern psychotherapy has a wealth of deep ways to help people through awareness and dialogue.
