About My Clients
I work with clients from college age and onward that are dealing with issues of sexuality and gender identity. I also work with clients dealing with religious trauma and/or investigating their own relationship with spirituality of all flavors. My style involves looking through the past to see how the narratives we tell ourselves affect our current lives.
My Background and Approach
I have an MDiv. from North Park and an MA in Counseling from Garrett Theological. I also have a BA in Theater and Political Philosophy from Wheaton. I have particular expertise in religious trauma and how previous belief systems (both our own and those imposed on us) can have detrimental effects on the stories we tell ourselves and our own self-talk. I offer a place to find compassion in this chaotic world. My hope is that you find your time with me a place of exploration and comfort.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a gay man, I am committed to helping fellow members of the LGBTQ community find their own voice in the world. I also have theological education, and I hope to bring healing to those who have been traumatized by hurtful religious messages. I believe that we carry resiliency in ourselves, and that we can find strength in the stories we have lived. I hope to bring hope to the future story that you are going to tell.
