About My Clients
Working with me includes a 15-minute consultation, a comprehensive and holistic psychiatric evaluation, 60-minute psychotherapy and medication sessions, and the opportunity for KAP treatments if appropriate and desired. I tend to work with emergent adults, artists, individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, marital issues, LGBTQIA+, and folx looking for spiritual growth, but all are welcome.
My Background and Approach
The Whole Circle approach is informed by a reverence for the power of narrative and the transpersonal. My holistic training in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy allows me to create a safe space that includes a spiritually-intentional set and setting for each journey I facilitate. My background in narrative therapy informs my view of structures of oppression and modern power and helps empower those who consult me to take primary authorship in writing the story of their lives. Dr. Inez’s upbringing and lived experience as a queer Black woman who is the child of Jamaican immigrants informs her deconstructive approach to mental healthcare. She has always been an advocate for social justice in her professional and academic career. She is committed to decentering the therapist and giving primary authorship to the consulting individual. She is aware of how stigmatizing and traumatic mental healthcare has been towards oppressed communities, and she attempts to undo that in her own work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In her spare time, Dr. Inez writes poetry and fiction, meditates, forest bathes, plays video games, and does yoga. Prior to nursing, Dr. Inez studied writing for screen and television in California. In 2018 she finished her first novel, and in 2022, her second. In 2022, she also created a podcast called The Nurse Artist and completed a poetry anthology called The Ketamine Lessons. She’s been telling stories since she was eight years old, and now she is incredibly grateful that she gets to listen to them as a profession.
