About My Clients
Do you feel stuck - and want to get unstuck but are not sure of what steps to take? I am experienced in helping adults decrease the impact of stress, relationships, communication, depression, anxiety, and/or trauma. I also help people who are living with Tourette Syndrome and other neurodiverse conditions (as well as their families) as well as adults who have a family member who is living with chronic conditions such as mania and/or psychosis.
My Background and Approach
I help adults by having weekly conversations that address your strengths, stresses, needs, and behavioral health symptoms and then teaching you new coping skills to decrease the impact of what makes you feel stuck or overwhelmed. A safe, compassionate, and clearly communicated relationship is the foundation to my approach. Using grad school-speak, I use a Relational, Person-Centered, Feminist, Attachment-aware, trauma-informed, strength-based, and diversity-aligned approach to counseling as well as using an eclectic range of tools from CBT, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused Brief therapies. I have extensive experience working in emergency psychiatry and outpatient treatment as well as having significant experience as an assessor, both with adults seeking behavioral health services and with children with developmental- and/or learning- disabilities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy is hard work and my goal is to make therapy accessible, doable, and as streamlined as possible. I am a Rogerian Humanist, as I believe that people know themselves best and have the capacity to change behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. My role is to learn about you and tailor support that you can use in discovering what you need to feel better and at peace.
