About My Clients
When it comes to clientele, I enjoy working with, and most drawn to, those who are at a crossroads in life and are wanting to make a change. I best serve clients and couples who are looking for a trauma-informed, sex positive and affirming therapist who is open to all orientations and identities.
My Background and Approach
Initially drawn to the understanding of how human action and consciousness both shape and are shaped by cultural and social structures, I decided to pursue my BS in Sociology from Northeastern University. After working in both residential and school settings as a Direct Care Counselor, I made the decision to further my education and obtained by M.Ed in Counseling from Winthrop University in 2009. I spent much of my time working with children and families as an Early Intervention Therapist. However, after having my kiddo, I made a shift and decided to focus my work and attention on adults. And I LOVE it! It it important to know that I look through a relational lens and will incorporate attachment work in our sessions. Some of my modalities include Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Regulation (EMDR) and Narrative Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy is for everyone! I am committed to changing the stigma of therapy and therapists. Taking care of our mental health is as important as our physical health! We are always evolving and changing beings and having the space to work through what this means in the past and in the present is a gift!
