About My Clients
I focus on supporting individuals, couples, and families dealing with an array of problems including: disabilities, low vision, chronic illness, and more. I create a welcoming environment that respects each client's unique experiences and backgrounds. I am particularly interested in working with diverse family structures and those facing transitional life changes or relational challenges. My aim is to help clients navigate their journey toward personal and relational growth.
My Background and Approach
I am currently a MFT masters student with Capella University, and President of the MFT honor Society, Delta Kappa. I bring a strong background in working with individuals, couples, and families facing disabilities, low vision, and chronic illness. My experience includes over five years working with children and families affected by autism and Down syndrome, as well as a personal understanding of chronic illness. This combination allows me to offer deep empathy and practical insights to those navigating similar challenges. I employ therapy approaches that focus on understanding each client's unique experiences and fostering personal growth. By creating a supportive, accepting environment, I help clients build resilience, strengthen relationships, and achieve meaningful progress in their lives. My commitment to inclusivity ensures that all clients, regardless of their background, feel valued and supported in their therapeutic journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am deeply committed to supporting diverse communities through my work as a Marriage and Family Therapy student intern. My experience includes working extensively in the autism community and engaging in disabilities advocacy, reflecting my passion for empowering individuals with unique needs. As an ally to the LGBTQ community, I strive to create an inclusive and affirming space for all clients. Personally, living with a chronic illness has given me valuable insight into the challenges of managing long-term health conditions, and I actively participate in events related to chronic kidney disease (CKD). Additionally, as a mother and someone who was adopted, I have a profound appreciation for families, including those in foster and adoptive services. These personal experiences and values drive my dedication to helping families and individuals navigate their journeys with compassion and understanding.
