About My Clients
I work with couples and individuals of all sexual, gender, and racial orientations. I support clients in breaking old habits, defeating false perceptions, and developing new, positive ways of living. Therapy is individualized, but typically leads to becoming more authentic with others, and accessing and manifesting the power of one's true nature. In doing so, clients can skillfully access their potential, reconnect with their creativity, and navigate any challenges or transitions life presents.
How I Can Help You
An overarching principle behind my approach to healing is helping individuals discover and draw upon their inner wisdom. I am a gentle guide who helps you tune into your own strengths and resilience to facilitate sustainable, in-depth healing. I offer both traditional and alternative interventions and treatment strategies, and I believe there is something profoundly therapeutic about realizing and trusting in one’s uniqueness. Some of the methods that inform my approach are EMDR, Hakomi Body-Centered Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing, all of which help to reduce or overcome debilitating stress, anxiety, and trauma symptoms. I support interfaith beliefs and practices and employ body-centered and mindfulness techniques for helping clients stay grounded. Where beneficial, I encourage non-verbal strategies, such as art therapy, poetry and journaling, focusing, and somatic techniques to create a treatment program that really speaks to who you are and what you need.
More About the People I Treat
I support clients in gaining a greater awareness of their behavior—becoming more conscious of how thoughts and emotions inform those behaviors, in order to interrupt harmful cycles that place limitations on the potential for happiness, love, and success. I feel fortunate to have the ability and the opportunity to help others improve their relationships and create better lives for themselves. When I’m not working, I enjoy music, writing, the outdoors, and yoga. I am steeped in the latest research and developments in attachment theory, neuroscience, and somatic therapy, and appreciate the growing field that looks beyond heteronormative ideas about sexuality, gender roles, and justice. My work supports clients in breaking through learned or imposed constraints that keep them from becoming their best self. It is a privilege to accompany individual souls on this challenging experience we call life and help them find greater peace and integration, and it is one I take very seriously.
